Join the English Conversations on the Trails, a hike series led by the Rainbow Routes Association and Greater Sudbury Public Library (GSPL). Our hikes aim to create inclusive experiences on local trails and walkways, promoting accessible outdoor recreation opportunities. Come join us to explore the Rotary Park Trail. We will be fortunate enough to have one of our very own special volunteers with us to teach us and talk about the techniques of Urban Poling. Come out and get that full body workout, without even knowing it! All while meeting new friends, having great conversations and learning about a fun way to stay active!
When: March 15, 2025
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
Meeting place: Please meet at Adanac Ski Hill main parking lot by the ski chalet
Parking: Parking may be limited, so we encourage you to use Smart Commute or carpool.
Trail: Rotary Park Trail
Terrain: Snow Covered, natural, some boardwalk
Length: 3-4 km
Dress: Comfortable winter boots and layer clothing for winter weather, hats and gloves. If you have a pair of crampons, don't forget to bring them along. Also, don't forget your water, it's always important to stay hydrated.
Poles: Poling will be provided to all who register in advance for the hike. For those who do not register in advance, we will bring a few additional poles, but it is best to register in advance so we can plan for the needs of the group.
Duration: 1.5 - 2 hours

GOVA transit route: GOVA transit route #2 at 8:30 AM from the Downtown Terminal, getting off at the Barrydowne & Westmount stop, which arrives at 9:13 AM. Walk down Westmount towards Adanac Ski Hill (19 mins.).
Note: GOVA fare is $4.00. Exact change or a bus pass is required.

Our hikes are designed to accommodate participants capable of walking on outdoor trails. Look out for organizers in RRA dark blue vests at the event for any assistance or questions you may have.
